Day 7

A picture of your most treasured item.

When I was in high school we did a thing every football season where the girls "adopted" the football players. A girl would pick one of the football players, only one girl per boy, and during the adoption week, she'd leave little gifts in his locker or at the office for him. My senior year there was sweet player named Billy, that was a year or two my junior, that I decided to make my boy for the week. One day I left athletic tape and other football must haves in his locker, I made him cupcakes decorated in our school colors, red and gray. On the last day, Friday, we were supposed to reveal to the boys who his sweetheart was. On that day, I had red and gray balloons, a lot of them, delivered to the office for him to pick up at the end of the day, along with a note revealing my identity. I don't think Billy ever guessed it was me that week, cause when he saw me in the trainers office, I managed the football team all through high school, he had a huge smile on his face, pointed to me and yelled "YOU!!" He gave me a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek and told me how much he loved his gifts. The football game started, and I didn't see Billy again until a few nights later until he showed up at my parent's front door with flowers and that little teddy bear. I don't know how he found out where I lived but I was so surprised and happy, I think I cried a little LOL. Anyway, I've kept this little bear safe ever since :-) Isn't that a sweet story?

Day 6

A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.

Nikki Threatt. Military wife to husband Ryan, Super Mom to almost two-year-old twins Kasen, Kyler and baby number 3. She juggles the needs of her children with everyday workouts to keep extra fit (she's a certified personal trainer in Texas where her family is stationed at Lackland Airforce Base), and keeping up with her school work as she gets her Masters degree. She never ceases to amaze me with her endless love and support for her family and friends. Everytime I get a text from her, which is almost daily, I am so thankful for her friendship, love, and support. She is one of my number one supports...all the way from Texas. I took the twins overnight the last time she was in Oregon so she could go out for some grown-up time and I got a little glimpse of what being a mommy to twin boys is like. I'd love to give her the weekend off to escape with her hubby before the new baby is born. Nikki, I'll walk in your shoes for a day, just say when.

I just love sharing pics of Kasen and Kyler's cuteness :-)

Day 5

A picture of your favorite memory.

This one is really hard for me because I always forget to take pictures! I'm terrible at it actually! I was in Florida back in January visiting my best friend for the birth of my godson, and I didn't get one picture of her and I together, LAME! So, I'm going to share a video. As I mentioned earlier, I flew to Florida in January for the birth of my godson Ellison. I got in three days before Jennifer's due date and since Jenn had no signs of Eli was going to come anytime soon, Jenn, her mom Deb, and I were on a mission to make sure Eli came while Deb and I were on hand for the action. We looked online for every "natural" way to jump start labor. Jennifer is in the Navy (so proud of her) so she gets more than her fair share of exercise, not to mention that she lives two flights up, so the walk-him-out option wasn't going to help. Jennifer is a single mom, so the what-got-him-in-will-get-him-out thing wasn't an option either, though we did think, jokingly, about walking into a bar and asking if there were any takers LOL. Many hours later, we decided to go down the black and blue cohosh with raspberry tea path. Poor Jennifer. The web said that we had to use the liquid stuff. So take a look at this video, and see for yourself why it's one of my favorite memories.

ps. that icky stuff didn't work! Jenn ended up being induced on her due date and we welcomed Ellison Ray the day after, on January 19th, 2011. I love that boy, and his mama, so much!

Day 2

A picture of you and the person you have been close with for the longest.

All of the pictures I have of Emily and I together are from high school! And silly me can't figure out how to work my scanner. So here is a picture of just her.

Mrs. Emily Kate Lehto Phillips

I love this girl like a fat kid loves cake. We've been friends since pre-school, so basically forever. She knows EVERYTHING about me but loves my just the same. I'd take a bullet for this foxy lady and I've always got her back. We've been through breakups, hangovers, success, failure, and many martinis. Love you Emmers!
